Our Power Tower line of Hydraulic Gantry Systems was launched in 1992.  Today the Power Tower has evolved into a rock solid,  boom style, gantry system with unrivaled user friendliness.  Many features that are exclusive to a Lift Systems' Power Tower will add to the safety of your crew as well as your bottom line due to increased efficiency.  Check out the models below and explore the exclusive features to learn why Power Towers are truly in a class of their own.

Nitrocarburized load bearing pins resist corrosion and wear superior to a hard  chrome or zinc plated pins.  Other surface exposed parts such as axles are also treated with this process.  Integrated lockouts keep the pins from engaging the boom sections when not required.

Square pins are used to maximize load bearing surface area and allow for tighter tolerances.  Additionally, point load egging, which can be seen when using a round pin and hole combination, is eliminated, keeping the lifting units tight and right.

Removable ladder platforms conform to both OSHA and CE regulations for personnel access ladders, and are equipped with two fully rated tie off points.  Additionally, the ladders can support the weight of the gantry leg when laid over.

Our patented self-contained Wedgelock system provides a mechanical locking safety mechanism at any point during a lifting operation, not just at the full extension of a boom section.  Each wedge assembly is hydraulically activated during the lifting or lowering operation to draw it away from the boom section to provide clearance.  In the event of a loss of pressure, they are spring activated to lock the boom into place indefinitely until the gantry system can be raised to actuate the wedge again.

Electronic sensors notify the operator of the engagement status of each wedge to ensure its disengagement from the boom section.  In the event of a sensor failure, an override is standard to allow continuing operations until proper repairs can be made.

Our patented wedgelock system has replaced our previous wedgelock method, eliminating over 350 mechanical parts on a 4 point system.  Further, hydraulic hoses required to operate the wedges have been rerouted and are no longer exposed to potential damage.  Units with our previous design can be retrofitted with our new system.

Dual-Axle wheelboxes provide a great combination of better load distribution as well as providing for smoother track joint transition over single axle driven gantry systems.

Power driven models have both axles on the drive end of a jack powered similar to a four wheel drive truck, virtually eliminating wheel slip on less than optimal travel surfaces.

Our true free wheel feature is standard on all power drive equipped hydraulic gantry systems.  This feature provides mechanical disengagement of the drive system to allow each jack leg to freely center itself under the load during initial lifting operations.  Once the load is suspended, removal of a pin allows the spring-actuated lockout to re-engage the drive system.

This feature is an improved solution to disengaging the drives via lockout valving on the hydraulic system to create a closed hydraulic loop that can still provide resistance to rolling.

Recessed hydraulic couplers on the power units are protected from harsh shipping and handling conditions.

All Lift Systems Power Towers come standard with two power units.  This allows for the system to be easily split between two projects, or for long loads such as long vessels.  Our lockable, enclosed power units all feature large fork pockets, lifting lugs to allow for overhead lifting, and tie downs for transport.  Both units are built as mirrored sets to allow for one operator to operate all four jack legs with ease on manually controlled units.

On our CARL controlled units, the operator has the flexibility to move around for optimal viewing of the lift.  CARL controlled units can also be manually operated from the power units, far removed from the jack legs where other systems require an operator to be posted for override conditions.

Elevated hydraulic reservoir covers eliminate water contamination issues and screened panels allow for optimal airflow for engine cooling in extreme climates.  All Power Towers can employ our dual power option with both electricity and a fossil fuel engine integrated into the same power unit.  Changing power options simply requires a switch selection with no mechanical setup changes needed.

Our Power Towers exclusively use a large section area, square boom design constructed of precision cut and welded high strength steel.  The square design allows for tighter tolerances, minimizing boom drift and flex.  One dedicated layout team ensures consistency and our Level 2 NDE certified inspector confirms quality at each step in the manufacturing process.  All structural weldments are manufactured in-house to ensure quality, and all steel sourced from our suppliers must come with mill certification which is kept on file.  All hydraulic cylinders used in Lift Systems products are manufactured in-house at our dedicated cylinder facility to our exacting standards.

Power Unit equipped with both a 440v electric motor and liquid cooled propane engine.  This solution essentially provides a backup power unit, and simplifies outdoor / indoor site condition challenges and requirements by eliminating indoor exhaust concerns and the need to rent or own a generator for when site electricity is not available.
